Student  Ministry

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers
in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”
I Timothy 4:12 NIV

Student Ministry is another very important part of The Gathering. Beginning with the 6th grade through 12th grade, we know these are years that can be very difficult to navigate through. We want to assist parents and be an extension of the home in building a strong foundation for our students. We want to help them to discover their faith and deepen their faith – to understand that God has a purpose for their life. We want to help equip them for their Christian journey beyond High School. We desire for our Student Ministry to be a place of loving, caring nurturing relationships and to be a vital part of the church family in total.

On Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m., our youth meet at a designated home where they are engaged in the “Word of Life” curriculum. It is a curriculum set up in modules that have relevant topics for teens with biblical principles.  Each module represents about 4 weeks with occasionally one stretching to 6; then you move to another topic. Here’s an example of a lesson:
“I’m In”: Your place in the church
Week 1: Identify–teach students the importance of identification with Christ
through water baptism and encourage them to be baptized if they have not been.
Week 2: A bond with great benefits–Students will understand the great benefit
they receive from bonding to a local  body of believers  through
church membership and take steps to be come a member in a local church.
